1. Who we are

Techster Consulting is an independent IT consultancy operating as a sole trader in England and Wales. For the purposes of data protection law, Techster Consulting is the data controller for any personal data collected through this website.

2. What personal data we collect

When you use the contact form on this site, we collect the name, email address, and message content you choose to provide. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect payment information through this website.

Like most websites, our hosting provider's server logs may automatically record basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and page requests. We do not currently run analytics or tracking scripts on this site.

3. Why we collect it

We use the information submitted through the contact form solely to respond to your enquiry, discuss a potential engagement, and, if you become a client, to deliver the agreed consulting services. We do not use it for marketing unless you separately opt in, and we never sell or rent personal data to third parties.

We process contact form submissions on the basis of legitimate interest, responding to enquiries you have voluntarily made, and, where a contract results, on the basis of performing that contract. Where we rely on legitimate interest, we have considered that this processing is proportionate and expected, and does not override your rights.

5. How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not lead to an engagement, we keep the correspondence for a reasonable period in case you follow up, and delete it thereafter, typically within 12 months. If you become a client, records relevant to that engagement are kept in line with our standard business and tax record-keeping obligations under UK law.

6. Who we share it with

We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Your enquiry may pass through our email provider (IONOS SMTP) purely as the mechanism for delivering it to us, and is not accessed by anyone beyond Techster Consulting.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, request a copy of it, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to our processing of it, and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office if you believe we have not handled your data properly. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

8. Cookies and tracking

This website does not currently use cookies for analytics or advertising. If that changes in future, this policy will be updated and, where required, a consent mechanism will be added before any non-essential cookies are set.

9. How we protect your data

Given the nature of our work, we take the security of any data we hold seriously. Our infrastructure is hardened following the same practices we recommend to clients, and access to enquiry and client records is limited to what is necessary to deliver our services.

10. How to contact us about this

If you have any questions about this policy or want to exercise any of your data protection rights, email us at hello@techster.uk.

This policy may be updated from time to time as the business or the law changes. Check back periodically, the version number and date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest revision.
