About
Techster Consulting didn't start with a branding agency. It started with a heritage, a mark, and a genuine passion for making infrastructure work properly.
The name Techster is a fusion of technology and a name with deep Baltic roots, blending heritage with purpose. The connection between the two was always intentional.
The transformation is deliberate: the personal becomes professional, the heritage becomes a brand. But the spirit of where it came from was never meant to be left behind.
Every company has a name. Not every name has a story this old.
The mark is a modern interpretation of Jumis, one of the most ancient symbols in Latvian folk heritage, representing two interlocked forms, duality, and the strength that comes from things bound together.
In ancient Latvia, Jumis was a symbol of harvest and abundance: two grain stalks growing from a single root. It adorned barns and granaries as a sign of prosperity and protection. The word itself is thought to derive from the Sanskrit jama, meaning twin.
In the Techster mark, the two T-forms represent two things bound together:
The root. The heritage. Baltic history encoded in a name that predates the company by generations.
The transformation. The professional identity. Technology, expertise, and forward momentum.
Two parties working in parallel toward the same goal: infrastructure that holds, security that protects.
Ancient wisdom encoded in a modern mark. A thousand-year-old symbol repurposed for the age of servers and security.
The lighter, mirrored form in the mark carries reduced opacity. Not weaker, but complementary. The two halves only make sense together.

Techster Consulting is an independent UK-based IT consultancy for people who want to own and run their own server but have never done it before. No technical background required.
No ticket queues. No account managers. No bloated retainers for things you don't need. Just direct, practical help from someone who has done this many times and cares about getting it right.
Based in the UK. Working remotely with clients worldwide. No computing background required to get started.
Techster Consulting is built on over two decades of hands-on experience in computer science, cybersecurity, and systems engineering. The founder holds a PhD in Computer Science and has worked across four countries: Brazil, the United States, and the United Kingdom, in roles spanning academic research, industry, and higher education.
After completing doctoral research in performance modelling and a research position at Siemens Corporate Research in Princeton, the founder spent years teaching computing in Brazilian universities before moving to the UK. A Research Associate position at Newcastle University was followed by a lectureship in Software Engineering and Cybersecurity at a leading UK university.
The research focus is on dependability, covering availability, reliability, security, and performance of critical systems, with particular expertise in Cyber Threat Intelligence and the security of smart infrastructure. This background informs every engagement at Techster Consulting: security is treated as an ongoing process, and nothing is recommended without being understood.
Two decades of making complex systems work properly, across research labs, university classrooms, and real infrastructure. That experience is what you get when you work with us.
Alongside the technical work, the founder has a long record of helping people navigate technology for the first time, from undergraduate students to professional researchers, always with the same principle: you should understand what you are using, not just use it. That philosophy is the foundation of how Techster Consulting works with every client.
