1. Advisory only, no system access

Techster Consulting provides advisory and consulting services only. We do not access, log into, or take remote control of any client system, and we never ask for or require a client's passwords, private keys, API tokens, or other credentials. All guidance is provided to the client, who chooses whether and how to implement it on their own infrastructure.

If anyone contacts you claiming to be from Techster Consulting and asks for a password, login credential, or remote access to your system, this is not a legitimate request. Please get in touch with us directly to verify.

2. No affiliation with any ISP or hosting provider

This website and our advisory content may mention internet service providers, hosting companies, or VPS providers (for example Hetzner, OVHcloud, Contabo, or IONOS) for illustrative or comparison purposes. Techster Consulting is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of these companies. We do not receive commission, referral fees, or any other payment from them, and mentioning a provider is not a recommendation that it is the best or only option for your situation.

3. No affiliation with any open source project

Open source tools mentioned on this website or in our content (for example Vaultwarden, Mattermost, Nextcloud, WordPress, GitLab, or any other project) are the work of their respective communities and maintainers. Techster Consulting is not affiliated with, employed by, or sponsored by any of these projects, and does not speak on their behalf. Product and project names, logos, and brands mentioned remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

4. No guarantee of outcomes

Advice on server hardening, security, backups, or infrastructure design is provided based on our professional experience and current industry good practice, but no advisory service can guarantee that a system will be free from vulnerabilities, downtime, data loss, or compromise. Security is a continuous process, not a one-off fix, and outcomes depend heavily on how advice is implemented and maintained after we are involved.

5. Not legal, financial, or regulatory advice

Nothing on this website constitutes legal, financial, tax, insurance, or regulatory compliance advice. Where our guidance touches on data protection, licensing, or other regulated areas, it reflects a technical practitioner's understanding and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified solicitor, accountant, or compliance specialist. If your situation involves regulatory obligations (for example GDPR, PCI DSS, or sector-specific rules), please seek advice from an appropriately qualified professional.

6. Blog and training content is general information

Blog posts, guides, and free training materials on this site are written for a general audience and are not tailored to any individual's specific systems, business, or risk profile. Figures such as pricing, resource budgets, and RAM estimates are illustrative and based on conditions at the time of writing. They will not fit every situation exactly, and should be treated as a starting point for your own research rather than a specification to follow without judgement.

7. Accuracy and currency of information

We make a reasonable effort to keep this website accurate, but software, pricing, and provider offerings change constantly. We do not warrant that any information here is complete, current, or error-free, and we accept no liability for actions taken solely on the basis of website content without independent verification.

This website links to third-party websites, including provider websites, open source project pages, and documentation. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, availability, or privacy practices of external sites. Including a link is not an endorsement of everything on that site.

9. Client responsibility

Because Techster Consulting operates on an advisory basis, the client remains responsible for reviewing, testing, and implementing any recommendation on their own systems, and for maintaining their own backups before making changes. We strongly encourage testing significant changes in a non-production environment first wherever practical.

10. Relationship to the Terms of Service

This disclaimer is a plain-language summary intended to set expectations up front. It does not replace, and should be read alongside, our full Terms of Service, which is the governing document for any paid engagement. Where the two differ, the Terms of Service takes precedence.
